... probably a silly DP question

Hello, all ...

This is probably DP 101 in nature, but while I hunt through the manual I wanted to make a query here. I just managed to set up my Motif ES6 (with mLAN card) and have DP recognize the synth as an audio interface along with my Traveler. If I record-enable a track in DP with the input set to one of the mLAN outputs and the output set to a set of outputs on the Traveler and press Record, audio is recorded. If I play back this audio, I can hear it on the Traveler outputs. However, I can't monitor it e.g. the track is record-enabled, input / output are set as I described, but I need to record the audio and play it back before I can hear it.

I never ran into this problem using just DP (4.61) and my Traveler, though I remember running into it when I tried to use Reason via ReWire. Since I don't use Reason much, I didn't pursue a solution. Now, I need to ... and so far, it has eluded me. Would anyone here assist?

Regards,

John

    Hi
try taking a look at the input monitoring mode in the set up menu. (I think that is were it is, I am not in my studio right now). It is in the same area where you change the buffer size, sample rates, hardware driver etc...In that menu you can change monitoring for record enable tracks. That might help. Also take a look at how the buses are configured in your cue mix window (the one that opens with the Traveler).
hope that was of some assistance
