I'm would be curious to hear about ways in which other users are Using ABleton Live rewired into DP. I've been experimenting a little bit with it and seems that it could be enormously flexible.
Do you have different sequences in each host running in tandem? Do you use live as an advanced beetbox/synth/sampler and then actually just record the output into DP audio Channels? I'd love to know the benefits of both and hear of any other setups or ideas.
One thing that I've gathered is that it's not very good if you want to try and wire a pre-existing liveset into DP because it disables all Vst and AU use.

Re: DP rewired with Live
Tue, September 4, 2007 - 12:37 PMhi...i use Live mostly to make loops based prod. and also to make scratches and then rewire it to use other VST's in DP. some how i am not comfortable using vst's and external midi sources in LIVE. But a drawback of rewiring it to DP, is that u loose out on the markers feature in LIve which is great to jump to sections of ur songs.
for the last song, i did most of my drum programming/loops in Live and then recorded them on to DP thru Audio channels.

Audiovoid,
I usually just rewire to Live to capture its' output (sometimes just l/r, sometimes each track). Like JC, I prefer to host / use effects in DP rather than in Live.

John
